Established in 1815, it preserves, among other things, documents produced over the course of a millennium by the offices of the Serenissima. The collection spans about 80 km of shelving and consists of over 800 fonds. It is the most important Archive for the history of the Serenissima and one of the most important in the world.

On September 20, 1624, the Provveditore Generale in Dalmatia and Albania, Francesco Molin, founded the Provveditore's Archive in Zara, which became the nucleus around which the Archive later formed. Among other things, it preserves several Venetian fonds, in addition to that of the Provveditore
The Venetian Regional Nobility Association (Associazione Nobiliare Regionale Veneta)
The Venetian Regional Nobility Association (ANRV) was founded on June 8, 1957, to evaluate initiatives aimed at protecting the historical, moral, and spiritual heritage of the ancient ruling classes. Among its social goals are the promotion of historical, legal, and heraldic studies on the Veneto region, from the Lombard era to the contemporary period. It publishes the journal Notiziario dell'Associazione Nobiliare Regionale Veneta – Rivista di studi storici and the monograph series I Quaderni della ANRV.

The Ateneo Veneto is the oldest cultural institution active in Venice. Founded in 1812, it has operated for over two centuries with the exclusive goal of pursuing social solidarity: its purpose is to cooperate in the development and dissemination of the sciences, letters, and arts in all their forms. In particular, it promotes the study of anything related to Venice, the protection of its heritage, and the well-being and social and cultural growth of its inhabitants.

The Library of St. Mark came into operation in 1560, following the donations of Francesco Petrarca in 1362 and Cardinal Bessarion in 1468, as well as the project of Doge Andrea Gritti. Today, in addition to a monumental collection of books on the history of Venice, it also preserves an impressive body of documents that complements those kept in the State Archives

Inaugurated in 1972 as a meeting place for Italian and German culture and research, it is an institution of interdisciplinary studies that promotes research in cultural studies and artistic work on the history and culture of Venice and its territory. It awards scholarships to young scholars whose research projects are related to Venice or territories once under Venetian administration, as well as to artists. It organizes international conferences, lectures, concerts, and more. A library of about 14,000 titles provides an initial orientation on Venetian topics. It oversees the publication of three series: «Venetiana», «Quaderni», and «Studi».

Founded on September 18, 1965, to promote regional historical studies, in agreement with the recently revived Deputation of Homeland History for Friuli, within the context of the newly established Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and to enliven and raise awareness in the Julian environment regarding issues of historical culture. It publishes the journal «Quaderni Giuliani di Storia».

Established in 1890 with the purpose of conducting historical research at the regional level. Today, based in Ancona, its scientific and cultural activities include holding academic meetings, organizing conferences, and publishing the journal «Atti e Memorie» and various volumes. Its field of interest extends from prehistory to the present day.

Founded in 1873 and based in Venice, its purpose, according to its statute, is to promote studies on 'the history of the Veneto, Trentino, Julian, and Adriatic regions and, for the period of Venetian rule, the provinces and places that were subject to or formed part of the Republic of Venice.' It houses a library of 20,000 titles, along with an interesting newspaper archive. It publishes the semi-annual journal Archivio Veneto, and the series «Studi» (which hosts monographs and conference proceedings) and «Testi» (which hosts editions) are published by Viella.

Founded in Prato in 1982, it investigates organized communication phenomena with a fruitful interdisciplinary approach. It preserves and offers scholars a specialized library, newspaper archive, archive, and museum; conducts studies and research on its areas of interest; and organizes scientific conferences, cultural activities, and educational programs. It publishes the monograph series «Quaderni di storia postale» and the journal «Archivio per la storia postale».

Founded in 1951, it "inherited" the real estate and movable property of the centuries-old Greek Orthodox community of Venice. It is based in the building of the Flangini College. Its main purpose is to study Byzantine and Post-Byzantine history, as well as the history of Venetian possessions in the East. It organizes congresses, seminars, conferences, and international scientific meetings; publishes scientific books and the journal «Thesaurismata».
Romanian Institute of Research and Humanistic Culture (Istituto Romeno di Ricerca e Cultura Umanistica) https://www.icr.ro
Inaugurated by the great historian Nicolae Iorga as the Romanian Historical and Artistic Institute of Venice, familiarly called the "Casa Romena" by Venetians, the Institute opened on April 2, 1930. Today, it is dedicated to research and the promotion of Romanian culture, particularly in its connections with Venice, organizing conferences, research, exhibitions, and displays.

Founded as the School of the Battuti in 1260, it became influential and wealthy, and in 1437, it took on the name of Venice's patron saint. Today, it manages a museum and library, organizes and hosts scientific and cultural events, and publishes monographs.
Istrian Society of Archaeology and Homeland History (Società Istriana di Archeologia e Storia Patria) https://www.siasp-aps.org
Founded in Parenzo on July 24, 1884, it moved to Pola in 1927, which had meanwhile become the political-administrative center of Istria. After World War II, with the exodus of the Italian population from Istria, it relocated to Venice and, since 1970, to Trieste. It has been involved in archival research, epigraphic collections, and archaeological excavations; it publishes «Atti e Memorie della Società Istriana di Archeologia e Storia Patria», a series that has more than 120 volumes.
